Mr. Mathis concentrates his practice on oil and gas matters, commercial litigation, insurance disputes, and personal injury cases. His oil and gas experience includes representing clients in cases involving royalty and surface-use disputes, operator duties, drill-site accidents, pipeline and easement matters, contract and lease disputes, pooling, and title matters. Mr. Mathis has also represented a wide array of commercial clients in franchise disputes, collection matters, breach of contract cases, and insurance disputes. In addition, Mr. Mathis has represented clients in negligence cases, ranging from defending a commercial client in a work-site suit, to asserting a plaintiff's rights in a serious personal injury matter. Mr. Mathis also has significant appellate experience, having briefed appeals in Texas state courts, as well as both the Fifth and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Mathis enjoyed a successful career in the Telecommunications Industry, working for three of the largest telecommunications companies in the world, namely MCI, GTE, and Sprint. Most notably, Mr. Mathis was responsible for managing a product line of Internet Services with a revenue stream in excess of $1 Billion, and was named a "Distinguished Contributor" for outstanding service with Sprint in 1999.

Most recently, Mr. Mathis completed a two-year term as an associate member of the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court. In addition, Texas State Bar President Roland Johnson recently appointed Mr. Mathis to a three-year term on the State Bar of Texas standing committee on Web Services. Mr. Mathis is also active in many bar association and community activities.

Mr. Mathis is licensed to practice law in all state courts of Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas, but is presently only practicing in Texas.
