Vicki Hafer Recognized for Pro Bono Efforts, 2/18/09

Arlington, Texas - Curnutt & Hafer, L.L.P. is pleased to announce that family law attorney Vicki Hafer has been named to the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas. Created in 1992, the Pro Bono College recognizes those attorneys who have far exceeded the Texas State Bar's aspirational pro bono goal in their efforts to address the vast unmet legal needs of the poor by providing a significant number of hours (more than 75 hours of service in a calendar year) of eligible pro bono service during the previous year. Recently, Vicki Hafer volunteered to represent a child removed by Child Protective Services ("CPS") from the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ("FLDS") compound in Eldorado, Texas. In 2008, several hundred women and children were removed from the FLDS compound by CPS, which resulted in what has been called "one of the largest family law cases in Texas history."
